Power Bus Way is a cable bus system unparalleled in terms of strength, design flexibility and ease of installation compared to other bus systems. When conveying large power requirements the two most economic means of doing this is through cable bus or bus bar systems.

However, cable bus systems are vastly superior to bus bar systems due to the fewer number of connections. Each connection or splice point presents an opportunity for failure at some time in the future.

Power Bus Way makes use of continuous run cables made of copper or aluminum from termination to termination thus eliminating faulty splices.

All cables are selected to withstand moisture and are unaffected by sunlight and ultra-violet radiation. Bus bar systems may appear to be easier and less expensive to install but they are significantly more expensive to purchase and require ongoing maintenance to avert future failure. Bus bar systems used in outdoor environments are well known to fail as the result of migration of moisture within the conductors leading to short circuiting or overheating and likely explosion.

There are numerous examples of these occurrences. Unlike bus bar designs, Power Bus Way systems do not require heaters and other devices to keep moisture out of the enclosure.
